The new Samsung's flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 plus turns out to be more expensive to build than other smartphone from major competitor, This report shows that the Galaxy S8 is the most expensive phone to build to date.
How Much It Costs Samsung to Build the Galaxy S8
According to an estimate released by the IHS Markit, The Galaxy S8 Costs Samsung $307.50 to build and while the previous Samsung's Flagship devices, Galaxy S7 and S7 edge which only costs Samsung $255.10 and $271.20 to build. And do note also that it cost Google $285.80 to make the Google Pixel XL and Apple $224.80 to make the iPhone 7.
Having said that, Samsung is yet to confirm if this figure is correct or not.
However, the official galaxy S8 price is $749.99, other elements such as Research & development, advisement cost etc that makes the Galaxy S8 so great is not included in the estimated costs to build the S8.
