Wanting to watch YouTube videos with friends? A team of Google's internal incubator, area 120, has launched Uptime, an app similar to youtube app that will let you watch videos with friends.
Just as the normal youtube app in which you can stream and download youtube videos on, the uptime app will allow you to invite your friends to watch same video in real time together in form of a "viewing party".

When you’re watching a video, your profile icon floats across the screen, and you can comment on the video or post emoji like the smiley face, surprised face, heart eyes, angry face, etc. These reactions will be displayed to anyone who watches the video, even if they’re watching at a later time. However, you also can tap on the screen to leave “sparkles” on the video itself, and these are only shown to those you’re watching with in real time.
Having said that, YouTube uptime app is only available for the IOS platform and it's only an invite-app for now. However, what Uptime is still lacking, though, is the ability to filter the community’s shares, so you can find videos by genre, as well as a search box to discover those have already been shared to the network. Aside this, uptime look like a fun experiment.
